Thomas Buckley Simcocks enlisted 6th July, 1915. To M/East per HMAS Ceramil. To Camp Tel El Kebir. Sick with weak ankles. Disch Medically unfit 22nd May 1916. Minor entries to diary. Grade II-

AUST WW1 LIGHT HORSEMANS DIARY & ACCOMPANYING BADGES. Unfortunately the diary is only just started & is not attributed in any way. It being a rather thick note book with all being blank pages except for the first five. The first page has an old newspaper clipping titled 'First under fire' & a picture of Capt Welch of the Australians having his hand treated by Capt Kay, a brother Officer in Gallipoli. The second page being a chronological list of movements. 'Mobilized Randwick Rifle Range, AE Forces Queens Park, embarked HMT Argyllshire 17th October 1914. Left Sydney 18th Oct, left Albany, arrived Colombo, Aden, Suez, Port Said, Alexandria, Mena Camp Pyramids. Short entries for Saturday 16th January 1915, Sunday 17th Jan 1915 & Tuesday 19th January, then ends. Mentions horses, anxious to get to England, visiting Pyramids & natives. C/w WW1 Rising Sun hat badge & single collar badge, 'Australia' title and an original miniature trio of medals. Grade II-
